Scientific Miracles in Quran

The last book of Muslims was revealed about 1400 years ago. This was revealed on the last prophet of Allah, Hazrat Muhammad (p.b.u.h). It is a book of guidance that was conveyed to the mankind. Quran teachings give the true essence of the will of God that is to be followed by the mankind. Quran is the miracle of Allah that would be fololo9ed till the judgment day. This is the book that prepares Muslims for the judgment day. Quran is a complete code of life. It has laid the foundation of the scientific discoveries and growth as well.

It is to be noted that the Quran is not just limited to the Muslims, but it is a treasure of wisdom and knowledge for those who read understand and learn Quran. There are a few scientific predictions and miracles mentioned in the Quran which were later discovered:

1) The Quran states, "and it is We who have constructed the heaven with might and verily. It is We who are steadily expanding it" (The Quran, 51:47). It is now known that universe is expanding. The motion of the universe was verified by NASA as well.
2) The orbits that we know about in the present date were mentioned in the Quran 1400 yaers ago. As said in the Quran:
"it is He who created the night and the day, and the Sun and the Moon. They swim along each in an orbit" (The Quran, 36:38).
3) Noiw we know that there are paths that handle vast universe. In another verse the God Almighty says, "By the sky, full of orbits and paths" (The Quran, 51:7). Today we know that Sun is not static and all the planets are moving on their predefined orbits.
4) In another ayat the word folding up is used for the circular motion of the planets. As said in the Quran:
"He has created the Heavens and the Earth for truth. He wraps up the night in the day and wraps the day up in the night" (The Quran 39:5).
5) Now we all know that everything is created in pairs. This was discovered in 1933. But infact this was mentioned in the Quran in the 7th century. As said in the holy Quran:
“Glory be to Him who created all in pairs. From what the earth produces, from themselves and from things unknown to them" (The Quran 36:36).

The Importance of Beard in Islamic Practices

"O ye who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger, and those charged with authority among you." (Quran 4:59)

As said in the Quranic verse it is essential for every Muslims to follow the messenger sent in the world to guide. But as we don’t follow the Sunnah of the prophet we have some how fallen apart. This is the major reason the Muslims are away from the practices of Islam. For the ones who live in the non Muslims countries should read holy Quran online. Due to the western forces working against the Muslims as a complete conspiracy the Muslims are being questioned at every practice they carry out. Even Muslims Question about the length of the beard. here are a few verses of Quran that would tell you the how to carry out practices of islam:

"O ye who believe! give your response to Allah and His Messenger, when He calleth you to that which will give you life; and know that Allah cometh in between a man and his heart, and that it is He to Whom ye shall (all) be gathered."(Quran 8:24)

We can see the importance of beard in Islam in the ahadees of the last prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H). He said that "I have no connection with one who shaves, shouts and tears his clothing eg. in grief or affication."

Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said: "Anyone who shaves has no claim to the mercy of Allah"

Man-Made Gods and Goddesses

Mankind since the creation of the universe has been searching for the creator of the universe. The word mazha holds the basic idea of God who has created the world. Some believe in this others believe that there is no creator and the world is an accident.

It is thought that the creator is a dictator and anyone disobeying him has to face the wrath of the creator and afflictions, difficulties. It was thought that you can please him by flattering and praising him. Even offerings are made to praise him. When God is happy he blesses you with happiness, honor, gifts etc. thus I conclude the man made god is like a king and thus the practices adopted are also based on human nature and instinct. It was said by Voltaire that

“If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him”.

The rituals and practices that were used to please the gods and goddesses were named religion by the mankind. Then there is another aspect of the man created god i.e. what ever man feared he started to follow him and worship him. Not thinking that the he might also have been created by another god. The gods and the goddesses that man believed in were in one way ort another were dependent on others. This waved out concept of god itself. There is a question that how can a being be a God and dependent at the same time? Quran teaching was against it. Islam gives the concept of a oneness of Allah. He is not dependent on any one. He has created the universe and he is the sole creator who ruins all the affairs of the universe.

Do You Scan Your Books?

I have small children very close in age and I am starting to use textbooks for their Arabic lessons. I have a set of books for one child and can't decide whether to scan them (tedious) or buy extras (expensive).

What do you do?

By the way, the laptop is no more, SubhanALLAH, so I've moved to the desktop. It's annoying after using a laptop for so long, but at least I have it. Fortunately, everything that I had on the other computer is on here as well, so I've not really lost anything except the odd file here and there, AlhamduLILLAH. Read More...

Christian use Biblical Verses as a Source of Violence

Religious text becomes more meaningful once you read it with the reference to context. Once you have the details of the reference to context you truly know the meaning otherwise the meaning is manipulated and distorted by the people who are working against the religion. Most of the people don’t even know about the religion Islam as the fact is manipulated by the proponents of the non-Muslims to misguide the people who just follow the path without searching for the reason behind religious content in the book of Allah. Quran teaching not only includes the recitation but also includes the reference due to which the reference is linked to. War is not only the word used in the holy Quran but we can easily find the content in the bible that has violent verses too. Biblical verses were used by the Nazis against Jews. Christians even quote these violent verses against the Muslims in Bosnia. Here are a few verses of Old Testament and New Testament:

  • “When the LORD your God brings you into the land where you are entering to possess it, and clears away many nations before you, the Hittites and the Girgashites and the Amorites and the Canaanites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and stronger than you. And when the LORD your God delivers them before you and you defeat them, then you shall utterly destroy them. You shall make no covenant with them and show no favor to them. (Deutronomy 7:1-2)
  • “When you approach a city to fight against it, you shall offer it terms of peace. If it agrees to make peace with you and opens to you, then all the people who are found in it shall become your forced labor and shall serve you. However, if it does not make peace with you, but makes war against you, then you shall besiege it. When the LORD your God gives it into your hand, you shall strike all the men in it with the edge of the sword. Only the women and the children and the animals and all that is in the city, all its spoil, you shall take as booty for yourself; and you shall use the spoil of your enemies which the LORD your God has given you… Only in the cities of these peoples that the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance, you shall not leave alive anything that breathes (Deuteronomy 20:10-17)
  • therefore, kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man intimately. But all the girls who have not known man intimately, spare for yourselves. (Numbers 31:17-18)
  • “I tell you that to everyone who has, more shall be given, but from the one who does not have, even what he does have shall be taken away. But these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slay them in my presence. (Luke 19:26-27)
  • "Do not think that I have come to send peace on earth. I did not come to send peace, but a sword. I am sent to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law" (Matthew 10:34-35)

Do You Redecorate Your Learning Space?

Now that I have all the little ones in the classroom and three of the four will be participating full-time, I need to reorganize a tiny bit. I feel like I am not utilizing the space properly so I have to think it over a bit. I'm not planning anything fancy but I have been trying to organize some learning centers for the kids and make specific spaces for each subject.

We used to have a space for the calendar but I took it down to move it elsewhere (never got around to that, lol). I would really like to have a space dedicated to math, one for science, language arts and Islamic Studies. I have a space for geography and Arabic is next to the computer.

Do you have learning centers or bulletin boards? I like to visit Islamic Bulletin Boardsfor inspiration from time to time but I haven't printed the materials just yet.

I was searching for free materials for teachers and there are tons out there if you have the time (and mostly if you're in the States). I received a free poster from the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science Genomic Science Program, (lol, such a long name). It's a poster of human genome landmarks.

Yes, it's geeky and my kids won't know what it means but that doesn't mean that you can't get yours for your high school learners. I have others on the way, InshaALLAH but this was the first to arrive. If you're interested, go the website.

Our penpals were once again gracious enough to think about us and send us lovely letters once again. Hopefully, everyone will receive ours soon, InshaALLAH.

Mathematics in Quran

All of the demonstrations so far granted in relative to the diverse twists from which one can set about the Qur'an have undoubtedly been personal in nature; although, there does live another bend, which is target and that is based on mathematics.

It is astonishing how authentic the Qur'an becomes when one assembles what might be mentioned to as a register of good guesses. Mathematically, it can be clarified utilizing estimating and proposition examples. For example, if a individual has two alternatives (i.e., one is right, and one is wrong), and he closes his eyes and makes a alternative, then half of the time (i.e., one time out of two) he will be right. Basically, he has a one in two possibility, for he could choose the incorrect alternative, or he could choose the right choice.

Now if the identical individual has two positions like that (i.e., he could be right or incorrect about position number one, and he could be right or incorrect about position number two), and he closes his eyes and estimates, then he will only be right one-fourth of the time (i.e., one time out of four). He now has a one in four possibility because now there are three modes for him to be incorrect and only one way for him to be right.

If one sketches up a register of all of the topics about which the Qur'an has made correct declarations, it becomes very clear that it is highly improbable that they were all just correct unseeing guesses. Holy Quran online can help you and your children to know the scientific and mathematic approach of the holy Quran.

Working on So Many Things

It seems that we have finally started to wrap up some loose ends around here. My laptop is still at the shop and InshaALLAH the hardware will be saved and I can continue blogging on a regular basis.

We are still completing our unit on classification but we are just about done. I ordered the unit study from CurrClick a long time ago and we've picked it up sporadically throughout the year. Last week, we briefly covered invertebrates so the children were delighted to get some hands on time with some starfish fossils and various shells that I've collected throughout the year.

After finishing the Treaty of Hudaiybiyah (copywork), we added it to our Islamic Studies notebook.

InshaALLAH we are starting the 99 Names and Attributes of ALLAH, using The Names and Attributes of ALLAH by Shaikh 'Umar Sulaiman Al-Ashqar, and we are learning about the Mothers of the Believers too, AlhamduLILLAH. We will learn nine names at a time, InshaALLAH.

I've also finally gotten around to teaching the kids to count in Arabic. I've added some visual aids to the whiteboard and we use them to count each day. I downloaded them from Yemen Links so long ago, SubhanALLAH but I've only just now put them up. Sometimes I find lots of resources but I don't have the time to implement them right away.

The good news, AlhamduLILLAH, is that my husband and daughter have picked up where they left off and she is back on track with learning Suratul Fajr. Do you remember when I said that we were sending them to the Islamic school down the street? AlhamduLILLAH for the sisters there. They work so hard at running the school but I found it too difficult to juggle outside homework with their homeschool work. They had so much homework from one class that it took most of the day and evening to finish. This would be fine if we weren't homeschooling, but SubhanALLAH it was making them quite unhappy. They are happy to have new friends from the masjid though and now they also have Muslim neighbors so I see the whole experience as a win. Read More...

The Errors of Heart

Heart can be affected by any doubts and errors that come in the path of faith of a person. The main factor that affects the faith is the lust and desires that attack heart harm it. We don’t even find out that heart is affected by the something so harmful.

Allah says about the disease of doubt:

"In their hearts is a disease (of doubt and hypocrisy) and Allah has increased their disease." (2:10)

Allah says concerning those who refuse to make the Qur'an and Sunnah the basis of their judgments:

"And when they are called to Allah (i.e., His Words, the Qur'an) and His Messenger, to judge between them, lo! a party of them refuses (to come) and turns away. But if the truth is on their side, they come to him willingly with submission. Is there a disease in their hearts? Or do they doubt or fear lest Allah and His Messenger should wrong them in judgement? Nay, it is they themselves who are the Dhalimoon (polytheists, hypocrites and wrongdoers)." (24:48-50)

Allah says about lust desire "O wives of the Prophet! You are not likely any other women. If you keep your duty (to Allah), then be not soft in speech, lest he in whose hearts is a disease (of hypocrisy, or evil desire for adultery) should be moved with desire..." (33:32)

Providing correct remedies for complaints of the heart (referring to religious and emotional ailments) only happens at the hands of the Prophets, alaihim as salam, and Messengers of Allah. The heart becomes well when it comes by information of its Lord and Creator and in His Names, Attributes, Actions and Commandments. The heart furthermore becomes well when it favours obtaining Allah's Pleasure and favours what He likes, all the while bypassing His prohibitions and what might lead to His displeasure. There is no life, wellbeing, or wellbeing for the heart except by this procedure, which only the Messengers can provide. It is incorrect to believe that one can ever attain the heart's wellbeing through any other way than through the guidance of the Messengers of Allah. read online holy Quran to correct the errors.

Selfless Love and Respect towards Parents

The place of parents in Islam is quite high in Islam. We rarely see any old houses for old parents in the Muslim countries. This is quite misunderstood by many people as think that probably Muslims don’t have any place for the old in there society.

The most difficult time of parents is when they get helpless and old. This is the time when they need to be cared for as they can’t help themselves. This is the time when Allah in the holy Quran at many places has asked the mankind to take care of there parents.

Muslim parents stay with there children as they get old this is the reason that we don’t see old peoples home in the Muslim countries. Parents are not left with other people rather they are taken care of by there children as they get old. It is considers as an honor and gives spiritual growth to a person when he honors and cares for the respect of his parents. Thy should be treated with merci, benevolence and selflessness.

God has said:

Your Lord has commanded that you worship none but Him, and that you be kind to your parents. If one of them or both of them reach old age with you, do not say to them a word of disrespect, or scold them, but say a generous word to them. And act humbly to them in mercy, and say, “My Lord, have mercy on them, since they cared for me when I was small.” (Quran, 17:23-24)

What Is True Happiness and Peace

Happiness lies with in and not in parties or world s desire that never ends and keeps on growing every day. In the today’s date it is true that most of the youngster move to the places that are said to bring them joy rather theses places bring them nothing.

Most persons believe, one evening of the prom, so what? Well, not necessarily. When you proceed to the prom you are evolving used to that air in order that if alike happening are in your life (other parties) you will precede there which will farther extract from your happiness.

I understand that most of our Muslim likely will not be eager to proceed to evening associations after going to the prom, but they will become used to the air, and if they glimpse other ones going to the prom they would not accuse them.

True joyfulness lies in being persuaded with what you have, to be contented. What's the one way to habitually be happy? He made it to make us joyous, He cares for us. The inquiry one should inquire himself/herself is 'what manage I get from being thankful?' For peace and happiness you should read online Quran. This can make you happy forever.

Still Learning By Day but Enjoying the Hot Spring Nights

I am still here but on a limited basis. One of my little ones spilled some water on my laptop (yikes). I am probably going to get the hard drive fitted into an external case and just get a new one, InshaALLAH. In the meantime, I am using the classroom computer.

It has been extremely hot over the past few weeks and we've tried our best to stay cool in different ways. I finally had to give in and install the window air conditioner so that the kids would stop fighting and I could stay sane, lol. Last weekend was the Victoria Day long weekend, so my husband spent a lot of time outside with the kids in the evenings and I was trying (still unsuccessfully) to capture the local fireworks. This was the best I could do. It's hand-held on a tripod in manual focus but I need to study my photography books to get this right, InshaALLAH.

Since it was so hot, the kids sat on the balcony and read for a while.

We've also done a lot more Arabic lately. My daughter is using Rosetta Stone and she's also reading some Scholastic books in Arabic. Now we need to start using our brains and speak it more frequently around the house, InshaALLAH.

Meanwhile, my son has really picked up his reading and we're using the Explode the Code series to slowly work on his handwriting. It's really coming along, mashaALLAH.

Do most of you take a break and stick with the standard school schedule? Will any of you be continuing your studies throughout the summer? I keep trying to take a break but the children push me forward, lol.

Penpals: this week, InshaALLAH, we will be getting something out to you. Hafsa, please email your address and your daughter's name so that we can write her too. Read More...
