(In the Name of Allah (SWT), Most Gracious, Most Merciful, all praise and thanks are due to Allah, Lord of the Realms and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger (SAWS) and upon all his family and companions)

Not all are aware of the fact that RAMADAN (IN CONTEXT OF AYATH) MONTH OF QURAN REVELATION is a very special month for which ALLAH (SWT) has promised that believers are truly blessed with this month because they are to acquire such provisions which are not available for any other month.

In addition there comes more knowledge which relates to us as the importance of such a month in which we are to know that the true blessings of Ramadan is an ideal gift to the entire mankind seeking forgiveness, mercy and blessings. This is the month in which Quran was revealed and this is the month, Ramadan in which we are told that the Night of Power (Shab-e-Qadr) is to be found and make the most out of it for such a reason.

As Allah (SWT) says: “And do not have sexual relations with them (your wives) while you are in Itikaf in the mosques. These are the limits (set) by Allah, so approach them not. Thus does Allah make clear His signs to mankind that they may become Al Muttaqun (the pious)" (Quran 2:187)

"Verily! We have sent it (this Quran) down in the night of Al-Qadr. And what will make you know what the night of Al-Qadr is? The night of Al-Qadr is better than a thousand months Therein descend the angels and the Ruh (Gabriel) by Allah's Permission with all Decrees, Peace! until the appearance of dawn (97:1-5)

What Do You Know About Fasting?

(In the Name of Allah (SWT), Most Gracious, Most Merciful, all praise and thanks are due to Allah, Lord of the Realms and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger (SAWS) and upon all his family and companions)

Fasting is practiced in the month of Ramadan and this is where we are told the importance and glory of this special month and how we are to experience and practice the appropriate learning to make the real difference and this is why you as a believer should know how Fasting In The Month Of Ramadan is Defined:

In one variant of al-Bukhari, “He has left his food and drink and appetites for My sake. Fasting is Mine and I repay it. Any other good deed I repay with ten like it.”

In a variant of Muslim, “Every action of the son of Adam is multiplied. A good action receives from ten to seven hundred times.”

Allah Almighty said, “Fasting is Mine and I repay it. He leaves his appetites and food for My sake. The faster experiences two joys: a joy when he breaks his fast and a joy when he meets his Lord. The changed breath in the mouth of the faster is more fragrant to Allah than the scent of musk.”

1216. Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “The one who spends out two kinds of actions in the way of Allah will be summoned from the gates of the Garden and told, ‘O slave of Allah this is better.’

“All the people who did the prayer will be called from the gate of the prayer. All the people who did jihad will be called from the gate of jihad. All the people who fasted will be called from the gate of Rayyan. All the people who gave sadaqa will be called from the gate of sadaqa.”

Abu Bakr said, “May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, Messenger of Allah. No one called from those gates will feel distress. Will anyone be called from all those gates?” He said, “Yes, and I hope that you will be among them.” [Agreed upon]

Riyad-us-Saliheen - Chapter 33, Hadith #269

269. `Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: A poor woman came to me carrying her two daughters. I gave her three date-fruits. She gave a date to each of them and then she took up one date-fruit and brought that to her mouth to eat, but her daughters asked her that also. She then divided between them the date-fruit that she intended to eat. This (kind) treatment of her impressed me and I mentioned that to Messenger of Allah (PBUH) who said, 'Verily, Allah has assured Jannah for her, because of (this act) of her,'' or said, "He (SWT) has rescued her from Hell-Fire".
[Muslim].

Commentary:  Besides great merit of the upbringing of daughters, this Hadith also tells us that if a wife has secured general permission from her husband about Sadaqah (alms and charity) she can offer Sadaqah, and its reward will be given to both of them. The former will be entitled to it for paying it, while the latter will be eligible to it for giving his consent to it.

Some Ayats(verses) and Hadith regarding Ramadan Fasting

Fasting in Ramadan is of great importance. ALLAH orders us to have fast during the oth of Ramadan with a complete faith. Fasting doesn’t mean to give you punishment. Always do breakfast at the time of sunrise and then decide to have a fast for whole day till sunset. Hazrat Anas related that Rasulullah said: “Take the Suhoor meal, for there is blessing in it (Bukhari, Muslim)”.

There are many Ramadan Ayats in Quran. We know that the Ayats of Quran are the words of ALLAH so they are true and for our better life.

“The month of Ramadan is that in which the Quran was revealed, guidance to men and clear proofs of the guidance and the distinction; therefore whoever of you is present in the month, he shall fast therein…” Quran 2:185

“God commanded fasting for you just as he commanded it for those who were before you so that you would be upright”. Al-Baqarah 2:183

Also some Ramadan Hadith are also available which are told by the followers of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).These ahadith help us.

Hazrat Abu Huraira said that I have heared Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to say “ALLAH said Ibn_e_Adam did all deeds for himself accept fasting as fasting is for me and I will return for it. Swear to ALLAH who is the responsible of the life of Muhammad (PBUH) that the smell coming from fasting person mouth is favors than the person brushed his teeth”.

At the time of iftar Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was used to recite a dua (prayer) before breaking his fast that is “O ALLAH, for you have I fasted and with what you have provided do I break fast”.

As the crescent moon is sighted… And the Holy month of Ramadan begins… ALLH will bless us with happiness and grace our home with warmth and grace.

Importance of Ramadan in Ayahs and Hadith

Ramadan is a 8th month of a year. It came after Shaban. Muslims wait for this month whole year and prepare themselves for the Ramadan. In Ramadan ALLAH shower his mercy and forgiveness on people and Muslims do fating in this month for 30 days. There are so many verses of Quran about Ramadan Hadith and ayahs which tells us the importance of Ramadan.

Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said “Whosoever recites only one ‘Ayah’ in Holy Ramadan, He will be awarded as if he has recited the full Quran in other months”.

Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said “Whosoever established prayers on the night of Qadr out of sincere faith and hoping for a reward from ALLAH then all his previous sins will be forgiven.”

Hazrat Sahel bin Saad (R.A) said that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said “Heaven has eight doors and one of them is Bab_ur_Rayyan from which only those people will pass who take fast in Ramadan.”

Hazrat Abuhurairah radiallao anho said that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said “when the month of Ramadan came the gates of heaven are opened and the gated of hell are closed and the devils are chained.”

Surah Al-Bakra (2:185) “Ramadan is a month in which was sent down the Quran as a guide to mankind, also clear signs for guidance and judgment between right and wrong. So everyone of you who is present during that month should spend it in fasting”.

Ramadan is a month whose beginning is mercy, whose middle is forgiveness and whose end is freedom from the fire.”

Importance of prayers in Ramadan

Ramadan is a gifted month for Muslims from their lord. Muslims believe that ALLLAH is the only one who is a creator of this universe and people can only save them from the fire of hell if they follow ALLAH rules and saying. ALLAH has given a holy book that is Quran to Muslims for making their life perfect. Muslim follow Quran as it has the wordings f ALLAH. ALLAH has told Muslims in Quran to have fasting in Ramadan. Muslim do fasting and prayers in Ramadan for their ALLAH.

Allah said that ‘the month of Ramadan is better than thousand months’.

Also the prayers and fasting in Ramadan is better than the prayers in whole year. ALLAH has told many times in Quran to have prayers a lot. There is a big difference in prayers and saying prayers. There are 0 days of Ramadan in which Muslims make their all activities less down and spend their most of the time in prayers because ALLAH shower his blessing and forgiveness in this month.

Praying for lord is the main duty of believers. Prayers make people close to their lord an ALLAH bless them with his mercy.

There are so many prayers for the month of Ramadan we have told by our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). There are 3 ashrahs of Ramadan which has their own prayers and blessings. The last ten days of Ramadan have much more benefits and blessings for Muslims. These nights contain a night called shab_e_Qadr which is the best night amongst all night.

Thus the prayers in Ramadan give us thousand times more blessings from ALLAH comparing with the prayers in remaining year. We should pray a lot in Ramadan and the whole year for the blessing of Allah and our forgiveness.

Ramadan Kareem and Welcome to the New School Year

Ramadan Kareem and Ramadan Mubarak to everyone! It has been pretty busy around here lately.

For the past month or so, I've been gathering our books and trying to figure out which path to take for our homeschool. I've read countless blogs to get fresh ideas and mapped out my own. The biggest challenge for us is creating a proper history/geography course and a literature curriculum that is not too far advanced but offers a challenge to my oldest.

My son is using Saxon Phonics I and Saxon Math I and he's doing quite well with both. I purchased their kindergarten math last year for him and I think it was mostly a waste of time because the lessons were too easy and stretched over two books so it became tedious. He likes the grade one program and looks forward to the lessons, and the routine helps him sit still, lol.

For calendar time, I have set up our old calendar and converted it into a hijri calendar by using the downloads from A Muslim Child is Born. MashaALLAH, go and visit that blog if you haven't - there are so many resources, AlhamduLILLAH.

In the mornings, we start off the day with Qur'an, Arabic and Islamic Studies. We slacked off a little on Juz 'Amma so we have to finish it up, InshaALLAH. I purchased some thin silver wire from the dollar store and hung it across the front of the classroom so that we can use it as a sort of word wall.

Word Line

Right now, we're using it for Arabic. Currently, I am using clothes pins to hang our "laundry".

DSC_0271

I think we may also use it for the 99 Names and Attributes of ALLAH as a visual reminder, InshaALLAH.

Well, it's getting late here, InshaALLAH I will explain some more in detail later. Have a safe and beneficial Ramadan, Ameen. Read More...

Ramadan and the Workplace for Muslims

Ramadan 2010 is coming in few days. Prepare yourself to welcome the month of Ramadan. Muslims fast every day from sunrise to sunset for 30 days of Ramadan. Muslims men and women are working in the offices for the whole month and continue their fasting with the work. This makes them feel not relax and unhappy. The working people lack in their prayers and worshiping due to the load of work.

Ramadan is a spiritual and physical cleansing for Muslims. In Muslim countries people do prayers in the night and thus they start their work late in the morning which doesn’t effect. But for the Muslims in non Muslims countries, it is much difficult for the Muslims to maintain their fasting and prayers.

There is nothing differ in the month of Ramadan in non Muslim countries. They continue their routine as it was. But in Muslim countries the routine goes change; the working time goes less than normal routines by government.

Businesses have lack of awareness for the cultures. People know what Muslims are but don’t appreciate Muslims for what they do. There are many cases you will see in non Muslims countries that people invite Muslims in lunch while they are fasting but never give break for their fast to over at sunset. Respecting the cultures and religions is not anywhere in the workplaces. But it should be and is very necessary. Everyone should have freedom to follow his/her culture. If the cultural diversity is excluded in workplace then all the employees feel happy, relax and they would be encouraged to do something for the company. This makes business successful.

Ramadan the Month of Fasting, Forgiveness and Blessings

Ramadan is a month of fasting. In Ramadan we read Quran and learn different aspects of life. There are 30 days in Ramadan and Quran has 30 Suparah. Muslims easily recite all the Quran in 30 days of Ramadan and understand what it says then implement the teaching of Islam in their lives. Quran tells us the right way. Ramadan is a month when ALLAH showers his blessings on Muslims. ALLAH forgives Muslims and saves them from the fire of hell. Ramadan is a month when Muslims forget all things and worship ALLAH for his forgiveness and blessings. It is the month when Quran was revealed to our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Ramadan makes us more and more close to ALLAH and is a good practice to recall our deeds for all the year beyond. And we can save our year ahead from the sins and wrong way. ALLAH wants us to do all this in the month of Ramadan.

ALLAH said in Quran (2:61) "And recall when you said, "O Moses, we can never endure one [kind of] food. So call upon your Lord to bring forth for us from the earth its green herbs and its cucumbers and its garlic and its lentils and its onions." [Moses] said, "Would you exchange what is better for what is less? Go into [any] settlement and indeed, you will have what you asked." And they were covered with humiliation and poverty and returned with anger from Allah [upon them]."

ALLAH said in Holy Quran “And we send this month to you, the month of Ramadan is better than thousand months”.

Ramadan is also good for our health. It makes our mind relaxed and saves us from the Evil. The beauty of Ramadan is that Muslims fast because their lord ALLAH has said them to. Ramadan not only does spiritual development but also physical development. Muslims should be cheerful when Ramadan came. Ramadan provides opportunity to strengthen faith.
