The Stingray Bay Event is worth checking out! We have a zoo membership so it cost us three dollars extra to get in but we had a good time! There were nurse sharks and white-spotted bamboo sharks in the pool as well but they were too shy to swim around.
They feel really slick and slippery - a bit like catfish.
The "twins" my three and two year old were too afraid to touch them but they needn't have been since the animals were very calm and gentle.
I had a good time because no one rushes you and everyone was enjoying themselves without pushing or shoving to get to the pool. The pool has saltwater so you have to wash your hands up to the elbows (like wudu) and remove all jewelry.
The kids did their usual exploring and goofing around
and they took the obligatory photos for their grandmothers with minimal pouting.
To my delight, the elephants were out too!
