If You Are Near the Toronto Zoo

Sting Ray

The Stingray Bay Event is worth checking out! We have a zoo membership so it cost us three dollars extra to get in but we had a good time! There were nurse sharks and white-spotted bamboo sharks in the pool as well but they were too shy to swim around.

They feel really slick and slippery - a bit like catfish.
The "twins" my three and two year old were too afraid to touch them but they needn't have been since the animals were very calm and gentle.

I had a good time because no one rushes you and everyone was enjoying themselves without pushing or shoving to get to the pool. The pool has saltwater so you have to wash your hands up to the elbows (like wudu) and remove all jewelry.

The Whole Pool

The kids did their usual exploring and goofing around

and they took the obligatory photos for their grandmothers with minimal pouting.

To my delight, the elephants were out too!

Went to the Zoo Again

DSC_0077_edited

We decided to give the kids one more chance to see the animals before the cold weather kicks in. We were able to get a few more shots of the animals and enjoy a nice Saturday afternoon, AlhamduLILLAH.

Summer Fun

Finding...Dory?

We had a nice time at the zoo yesterday. It was dreadfully hot and there was lots of walking and lots of people.

As Close As I Could Get

We had to park so far away that I had a little bit of regret right at the beginning, lol.

We went around the world today

We decided to get a membership to the zoo because it is open all year long (didn't know that) and it really is the best value for us.

Finger Biters I

Since my daughter is studying Earth science in the coming year, InshaALLAH, we can really take advantage and visit at least a few more times before next August.

Water fall

The only disappointment for us was the elephant exhibit. They weren't outside this time so I was annoyed because that's what I was most looking forward to seeing. Oh, same thing with the hippos.

Looking For Lions

The older children were able to ride the camels thanks to their father's enthusiasm and they liked it a lot, except they said their camel was stinky.

Nervous but Willing

There were several exhibits showing artifacts.
